El Jardin Inn

Restoring Landmarks, Strengthening Communities

Little Havana Neighborhood, Miami, Florida

Through the careful renovation of three historic buildings at EL JARDIN INN near World Famous Calle Ocho, the project brings together hotel, art, and community—honoring the area’s rich cultural heritage while creating a dynamic new gathering place for visitors and neighbors alike. Thoughtful design, adaptive reuse, and locally rooted programming transform these three Art Deco structures into spaces that celebrate creativity, support the surrounding community, and invite meaningful connection.

The redevelopment includes comprehensive rehabilitation, historic façade restoration, and the integration of modern mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems to meet current life-safety, accessibility, and energy-efficiency standards while preserving character-defining Art Deco elements. Interior reconfiguration balances adaptive reuse with contemporary hospitality requirements, allowing the buildings to support modern operations without compromising their architectural integrity. The program integrates thoughtfully designed boutique hotel rooms, ground-floor cultural spaces, and flexible public areas that encourage street-level activation, support local artists and businesses, and foster ongoing community engagement. Shared courtyards and multipurpose gathering spaces further enhance connectivity between the hotel, the neighborhood, and the World Famous Calle Ocho vibrant cultural corridor.
